PowerSchool - Third-Party Plugin Security Update: PSCB Plugins Are Not Impacted
PowerSchool recently shared important information regarding updated security requirements for third-party plugins connected to PowerSchool SIS.
|
"Plugins that authenticate a third party into a PowerSchool SIS instance or that involve a third-party in the exchange of customer data have the potential to introduce a security risk. PowerSchool is actively engaging non-compliant vendors to support them in reaching compliance."

"Plugins that are not authenticating using OAuth and that are not exchanging customer data with a third party will not be impacted."
|
We want to reassure our customers that PSCB Free and PSCB Pro Subscription plugins are not impacted by these changes.
|
PSCB Development plugins do not utilize the PowerSchool API, do not authenticate using OAuth, and do not exchange customer data with any third party. Our plugins run within your PowerSchool environment and do not provide PSCB Development or any other third party with access to your PowerSchool server or student data.

PowerSchool - Subscription Renewal License Keys
PSCB has received numerous phone calls and emails regarding expired license keys.
|
Your license key should never have expired for the following reason.
|
- PSCB Development sent a renewal subscription invoice and license key in early June to all current subscribers. The email was sent to the primary contact listed for the district.
- The email contained the renewal license key needed to extend your subscription for 1 year.
The Subscription and License Key information is available on the primary contact account dashboard.

- Login into the PSCB website and select the Account link in the upper-right corner of the Home Page to view the Dashboard.
|
Installing the License Key
|
After locating your license key, navigate to the following location in PowerSchool to update the key.
|
- System Management > PSCB DEV Pro Custom Reports Management > License Key Registration.
|
PowerSchool - New Pro Student Pages Plugin
PSCB is nearing completion of a new Pro Student Pages plugin. This single plugin consists of 12 enhanced student pages and a school-based preference page to manage user access.
|
The plugin will be included in the current PSCB subscription package at no additional cost. The scheduled release date is 8/1/2026.
|
The current Free Student Page plugins will continue to be supported. Please note that these plugins are no longer being updated or available for download on the PSCB website.
|
If your district has a PSCB Pro Subscription, the new Pro Student Pages plugin should be installed upon release. Note: The current free versions of the student page plugins should be deleted before installing the Pro Student Pages plugin.
